Receiving my diagnosis was crushing. After years of doing everything “right”—avoiding caffeine, fried foods, alcohol, and cigarettes, and living as a vegetarian—it felt deeply unfair that it still wasn’t enough to protect my health.

At first, I was lost in confusion and doubt, questioning if the doctors could really be correct. But gradually, a new perspective emerged: perhaps my healthy choices were the very reason I was still here, giving me the chance to keep fighting.

Once I moved past the shock and denial, I made a decision. I would focus on what I could control and take my healthy lifestyle even further, determined to live a vibrant life filled with energy and purpose.

That’s when I became a vegan/plant based.
